INTRODUCTION
Importance of Sports can’t be avoided in any institution. It is the most vital thing that every students need to be in for the welfare of their personalities, better future and healthy life. Every year our school organize annual sports programme and this year there was no exception.
WHEN AND HOW HELD
In annual sports day competitions are held among all the students of a school on different events. So it is a day of great excitement to all of us. we get an opportunity to prove our capabilities in sports events. Our last Annual Sports were held on November 20 in our school playground which is considered best in the block.
PROGRAMME DETAIL
According to the notice served earlier, all the students attended the programme at about 9 a.m. Competitions began at 10 a.m. and continued till 5 p.m. There were many events such as flat race for different groups, cycle race, long jump, high jump, pole vault, sack race, arithmetic race, orange race, etc. I had given in my name for long and high jumps, and stood second in both. I have also cleared 3000 metres and 1500 metres respectively. It took long time to cover the distances. I was feeling unwell after those races. But that was a great experience.
ENTERTAINING SPORTS EVENTS
Some funny races like the cycle race, sack race, marble spoon race, math race, pot breaking event etc. created great enthusiasm among the audience. The sack race was a chance for me to pluck another prize but my dear friends Bimal and Asit defeated me. I received my defeat and congratulated them keeping up the sportsman’s spirit.
MOST EXCITING EVENTS
The math race of the junior was of great interest. Only one of twenty students could solve the sum correctly and he The more eagerly
did the boys, with their hands tied behind their backs, jump for the oranges was the sole winner of the race. Most exciting was the tug-of-war between classes XI and X. As soon as the pull began, students flocked round the scene and began to cheer one side or the other according to their choice. The event ended in a draw.
CONCLUSION
Finally at about 5pm all the events ended and prizes were given to the first two in each item. I got a small suitcase and a thermos flask. Our respected Headmaster then spoke a few words to us on the importance of sports and games in schools and colleges. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks to all.
